Flipkart Introduces Its Billion Capture+ Smartphone With Dual-Cameras

Flipkart to offer local-made mobile under Billion label

There's also a fingerprint scanner at the back and comes running Stock Android Nougat 7.1.2 to complete the package.

On the battery front, the smartphone by Flipkart is backed by a 3500mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 2 days of life. Flipkart is using RGB and monochrome sensors for the "Bokeh" effect on the smartphone.

Flipkart has already made a product page on its website (https://www.flipkart.com/billion-capture-teaser-brand-store) which also reveals several details about the phone. It will come in Mystic Black and Desert Gold colours, and go on sale on November 15, with no-cost EMIs and discounts on select debit and credit cards.

The Flipkart Billion Capture+ comes in two variants based on RAM and storage capacities - 3GB RAM+32GB ROM and 4GB RAM+64GB ROM configurations. It has dual 13MP rear camera with a dual-LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. The frontside of the smartphone is enabled with an 8-megapixel selfie snapper.

The Capture+, on paper at least, looks to be a pretty well-rounded device. The products will be manufactured in India and exclusively available on Flipkart on 15 November. The features in the Capture+ too have been derived from deep data-mining of millions of Flipkart customers' reviews.

The phone sports dual cameras at the back. "We're sure this customer-centricity will delight Indian smartphone buyers", said Sachin Bansal, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, Flipkart in a press statement.

However, that does not take away from the challenges that Capture+ will face upon its launch.

Iraqi military launch offensive on last Islamic State stronghold
He later said they had "retaken Rumana and its bridge on the Euphrates" along with 10 other villages. Earlier, Iraqi forces recaptured the larger town of al-Qaim.

The Billion Capture+ will be competing with the other dual camera smartphones like Xiaomi Mi A1 and Motorola Moto G5s Plus which are priced around Rs. 15,000.

Additionally, it is important to understand that any smartphone is more than just the sum of impressive internals and features on offer.

Flipkart is coming into the market with an ecommerce heritage as against a phone making heritage. Flipkart claims the device gives "hours of battery with minutes of charging".

"This is a big milestone for us and it will take us to the next phase from the brand's point of view because launching a hi-tech product like smartphone is not easy".

However, Flipkart's inability to challenge the established smartphone manufacturers may not concern it as much - not for now at least. Now, the company is entering the highly competitive smartphone market.

E-commerce giants Flipkart & Amazon are in the midst of an ongoing battle for superiority in the sector.

"Eventually we want to launch everything". In addition to that, Flipkart has stated that the phone will come with "unlimited cloud storage".
