Owners Report Pixel 2 / XL Google Assistant Bluetooth Bug

Google Pixel 2 XL

If you haven't ordered the Pixel Buds and think you might want to, you can head over the Google Store and pick them up for $159.

Some users have pointed that the screen flashing on the Pixel 2 XL doesn't happen every time but does occur frequently. Both the Google Assistant and Bluetooth headphones function properly independently of each other, so it's unlikely that it can't be fixed with an over-the-air update.

However, one of the users says that when contacted Google support, they said, "It looks like there is an internal software malfunction in which we're experiencing such issues with the device".

It's pretty rare these days to see the Pixel 2, and the Pixel 2 XL especially, in the news for anything other than the newest hardware issue cropping up. Another Pixel 2 XL user vented his frustration in a Google+ post where he claimed to notice the issue within hours of purchasing it. Due to the number of comments that have been added to the post since then however, including ones from today and this week, it seems evident it is still a current issue. When users make a call the other person on the other side can not hear them.

Louis CK's TV wife speaks out about his 'abhorrent' behavior
But in interviews, Adlon said she saw it differently, and thought that her character went along with the kiss. The comedian confessed to exposing himself to five women and apologized to them and the people he works with.

Google is aware of the problem but it hasn't yet discussed a timescale for a fix. Some users have also reported that screen flashes sometimes when it wakes up to show notifications. This has also been reported when giving voice commands on the affected devices.

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners are complaining about a bug that prevents Google Assistant from working with Bluetooth headphones, Android Police first spotted. Apparently, there is a fix that might bring the microphone back to work.

For some Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users, the microphone malfunction issue can be fixed by blowing up in the speaker which may sound old school but until Google responds, this may be the best bet. "Blowing into the speaker when the microphone is working causes it to fail", Zeird wrote.
