Apple Confirms Issues With New iPhone X's Screen

Top smartphones vendors in Q3

On Thursday, a Reddit user named Darus 214 started a thread about how his iPhone X screen became unresponsive in cold weather.

First, it was iFixit who did a teardown of the iPhone X to better understand its internal structure, now SquareTrade, an insurance company that provides extended warranties for mobile devices and other electronic devices, carried out breakability tests on the iPhone X to check what happens when it slips out of one's hands. It literally takes 2 seconds from going inside to the cold outdoors and my screen stops being very responsive. I try swiping on websites and it doesn't register my finger.

Edit: possible other explanation might be the drastic changes in light that are causing problems.

Looks like the Google Pixel and LG V30 aren't the only flagships in town having display issues.

Apple has said that iPhones, iPads, and the iPod touch are only built to run at ambient temperatures between 32 and 95 Fahrenheit. Don't leave the device in your auto, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.

We reached out to Apple to ask what might be causing the green line of death, and exactly how many cases the company is investigating.

If you experience either of these problems, book a Genius Bar appointment or contacting Apple's support team.

The publication has further quoted Apple as saying,"In certain conditions, the iPhone X will temporarily be unable to respond to user input if the temperature of the surrounding environment suddenly dropped".
