Iran Denies Being Involved in Bahrain Pipeline Explosion

Bahrain blames Iran for pipeline fire 'terror attack'

The UAE on Saturday condemned the terrorist explosion and expressed its solidarity with the kingdom.

.

The Bahraini foreign minister, Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmed, said the huge explosion that detonated in Buri, just outside the capital city of Manama, was an intentional act of terrorism and sabotage.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - An explosion ripped through a pipeline belonging to Bahrain's state-run oil company and sent flames shooting up into the night sky, with government officials on Saturday blaming the blast on an attack by militants guided by Iran.

No group has claimed the attack.

Bahrain relies on the Abu Safa field, which it shares with Saudi Arabia, for much of its oil, pumped in via a 230,000-barrel-per-day pipeline.

Defensive line coach Brady Hoke , the former head coach at MI , will serve as UT's interim coach for the remainder of the season. Hoke's first test as the head coach of the Volunteers is this coming Saturday when they host Louisiana State.

The state-run Saudi Press Agency reported late Saturday that the kingdom would halt pumping its own crude oil into Bahrain for refining over the pipeline explosion, potentially affecting the island's gasoline market. The fire service also evacuated homes in the nearby village of Buri, 15km south of Manama, it added.

Bahraini authorities have blamed an oil pipe blast that occurred in the country on Iran, calling it "an act of sabotage and a risky act of terrorism".

The interior minister of Bahrain on Saturday said the recent oil pipeline fire was "a terrorist act", according to a statement issued by the country's Interior Ministry, APA reports quoting AA.

Bahrain is home to the US Navy's Fifth Fleet and a British army base is now under construction.
