Kushner testified he did not recall any campaign WikiLeaks contact

Jared Kushner

President Donald Trump's aide and son-in-law Jared Kushner failed to disclose to Congress an event invitation by an alleged Russian mobster and ally to Russian President Vladimir Putin. It said the White House adviser didn't provide all the documents the committee wanted back in October.

Grassley and Feinstein said the committee learned of some of the missing emails when they received copies from other people also copied on the communications.

But Kushner did receive and forward an email from Donald Trump Jr. about contact Trump Jr. had with WikiLeaks, according to a new report this week and a letter from the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The Department of Justice investigation headed by special counsel Robert Mueller also has not spoken with Kushner.

According to USA news outlet The Atlantic, Donald Trump's eldest son Donald Trump Jr corresponded with whistle-blowing group WikiLeaks in September 2016 and emailed several of his father's campaign advisers to tell them about it, but Mr Kushner has not provided the emails to the committee.

Kushner's attorney told CNN in a statement that Kushner has been "responsive" to all requests.

O'Neill also said he would not hear new cases but will decide on the ones presented before he announced his candidacy. He's amended his initial post - which offered information that could reveal the identities of his past partners.

A source says the intermediary forwarded the five-page request to Trump campaign officials, including Paul Manafort and Rick Gates.

Kushner's lawyer Abbe Lowell, to whom the senators' letter was addressed, responded in a statement that said he provided Senate investigators with "all relevant documents". Such documents should have been produced in response to the third request but were not. Kushner is Mr. Trump's son-in-law and a top White House adviser who played a key role in the campaign.

In the letter sent to Kushner on Thursday, the committee said the information Kushner provided on November 3 "may have overlooked several documents". "We have been in a dialogue with the committee and will continue to do so as part of Mr. Kushner's voluntary cooperation with relevant bipartisan inquiries".

The spotlight on Kushner's security clearance form has become a focus in the Russia investigation as congressional committees try to determine whether any inappropriate meetings or contacts occurred between Russian officials and Trump associates during the campaign season.

The judiciary committee is one of three congressional panels investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and whether there was any collusion with the Trump campaign.
