November update to Splatoon 2 adds, just, loads of stuff

A huge Splatoon 2 content drop is coming later this week, Nintendo has recently advised (via Polygon).

At some point in the near future, a new stage called Shellendorf Institute, which appears to be a museum of sorts, will be added, alongside returning stages Walleye Warehouse and Arowana Mall.

The November 23 update adds new gear, hairstyles, four new battle stages, a new Salmon Run stage and increases the level cap from 50 to 99. While now capped at level 50, players will be able to climb all the way to level 99 - once you reach the new cap, you'll even be able to reset your level so you can continue climbing, similar to prestige systems found in other shooters. The Prestige will be identified with a special star.

FCC targets net neutrality
But proponents of the net neutrality rules say that provides a strong enforcement grounding to protect consumers. Pai said he presented his proposal to fellow FCC commissioners today, and set for a vote on December 14.

The November update also includes a new Salmon Run stage, Salmonid Smokeyard, which includes a wide area of beach with a raised upper platform on the sides of the map. A new battle stage will hit Splatoon 2 each week beginning this Friday. Players will also be able to customize their characters with additional accessories, including 140 new gear and four new hairstyles. The ability to modify your load out between matches is being enabled so that you won't have to exit to the game's lobby between each bout. Talk to Judd when you reach level 99 to do this.

One of the biggest changes to the game, however, is a new level cap. In mid-December, a new mode for Splatoon 2 is releasing called "Clam Blitz". Nothing else is known about the second update thus far. This adds Clam Blitz to the game mode rotation, requiring players to pick up clams scattered around the stage. New content will be rolled out in two phases, with the first phase coming later this week. The idea is to take the clams to a basket located near the opponent's base, but some of the clams have to be used to knock down the basket's protective barrier first. The baskets are protected by a strong barrier, which must be destroyed before you can score. It sounds like there's an element of team work to operating the fan lifts, so get ready to cooperate with your team mates beyond simply trying to win the game. "Not to mention the extra-satisfying opportunity to steal opponents' clams by splatting them..."
