Google pledges 10000 staff to its YouTube extremist video hunting army

YouTube Will Add More Human Moderators To Stop Its Child Exploitation Problem

In a Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, blog post, Wojcicki said that more than 10,000 workers will be helping curb videos that violate YouTube's policies from the platform.

Apart from expanding the current strength, the company plans to take punitive measures about inappropriate comments by introducing new comment management tools and blocking mechanisms.

Google (GOOG, GOOGL) will have 10K people reviewing and flagging content across its platforms by next year to teach AI how to do the job better.

YouTube last week updated its recommendation feature to spotlight videos users are likely to find the most gratifying, brushing aside concerns that such an approach can trap people in bubbles of misinformation and like-minded opinions.

"Now, we are applying the lessons we've learned from our work fighting violent extremism content over the previous year in order to tackle other problematic content", Wojcicki wrote.

Two doctors fired after 'dead' newborn starts breathing on way to cremation
Speaking to ANI, Jain said, "As soon as we received the information, we started the enquiry into the matter". Two hours later, doctors declared the baby boy dead, CNN reported Saturday.

Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube, made the announcement while laying out its plans to stop "abuse of our platform" - saying it will be looking to apply lessons it has learned from tackling violent extremist content to other areas of concern.

"Our teams also work closely with NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children), the IWF (Internet Watch Foundation), and other child safety organisations around the world to report predatory behavior and accounts to the correct law enforcement agencies". In a blog post, YouTube stated that monetization rules would also be revised to identify videos and channels that are not in line with the parameters set for advertising. Equally, we want to give creators confidence that their revenue won't be hurt by the actions of bad actors.

"Human reviewers remain essential to both removing content and training machine learning systems because human judgement is critical to making contextualised decisions on content", she said.

"We are planning to apply stricter criteria, conduct more manual curation, while also significantly ramping up our team of ad reviewers to ensure ads are only running where they should".

She said adding more people to identify inappropriate content will provide more data to supply and potentially improve its machine learning software.
