New Tomb Raider confirmed, here's what the leaks already tell us

New Tomb Raider game will be Lara Croft's defining adventure in 2018

This goes together with leaks that came out past year, suggesting that the new Tomb Raider game would be called "Shadow of the Tomb Raider".

"A new Tomb Raider game is coming", Square Enix said in a Twitter post, which you can see below. A new Tomb Raider is coming.

The tweet states that Square Enix is taking a "new approach", though whether that means a new approach to their announcements, or a new approach to the series is unclear.

We'll be looking forward to more news at one of the upcoming major gaming events in 2018! Square Enix refused to confirm the game's existence back then, but are finally ready to start talking.

PayPal's TIO network data breach hits 1.6m customers
However, the company did emphasize that no Paypal user has been affected by the breach. PayPal said free credit monitoring will be provided to those affected by the breach.

Again, the message itself seems rather ordinary if only a bit cryptic in leaving out when or what this "major event in 2018" will be.

The move is part of an effort to "put fans first", as they await the official reveal of what they call Lara's "defining adventure". This was interesting considering the second title, Rise of the Tomb Raider, wasn't even released yet.

The game developers launched a new era for the titular heroine with games that focused on a much younger Croft on her first expeditions. This film is based on the rebooted franchise, so there is certainly nice synergy between the movie and games now.

Either way, be on the look out in 2018 for when Square Enix decides to officially unveil the new Tomb Raider game.
