Seahawks' Quinton Jefferson tries to climb into stands after fans throw drink

Jefferson had to be restrained by Seahawks staff and ushered into the locker room in the last few seconds of the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Ever Bank Field on Sunday

The Jacksonville Jaguars were in kneeldown mode as they were about to end the game against the Seattle Seahawks. Things got a lot ugly, including an incensed Seattle player, Quinton Jefferson, trying to climb into the stands in Jacksonville.

Ugly scenes marred the end of the Jacksonville Jaguars' 30-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night.

Jefferson was jogging toward the tunnel that leads to the visiting locker room at EverBank Field when video footage showed something fly just over his head.

Seahawks defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson was walking from the field after being ejected from the fiery match, when a bottle was thrown at him by Jaguars fans.

Jefferson was ejected after crashing into the Jags' offensive line as the team was taking a knee with the ball to run out the clock. As the two parties exchanged words, someone appeared to throw an object on Jefferson, setting Jefferson off. Jefferson tried climbing into the stands to fight the fan, but was stopped by security before the situation escalated. "We have to be more poised than that", Carroll said after the game.

"I don't even know what happened", Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said of Jefferson.

Seahawks defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson was ejected for throwing a punch during the altercation, which included defensive tackle Michael Bennett.
