Don't want to unfollow a friend? Facebook now lets you 'snooze' them

Just before the quiet period is set to expire, Facebook will send an alert so you can be prepared or renew the Snooze for an additional length of time.

Facebook has actually been testing the snooze option for a few months, though the company seems to have made some tweaks to the feature since it was first debuted.

Facebook today is launching a new feature created to give users more control over what content they see in their News Feed: a "Snooze" button.

Over the next week, we're launching Snooze, which will give you the option to temporarily unfollow a person, Page or group for 30 days.

Facebook's latest feature could be of assistance.

Mesut Ozil favours Manchester United move over Barcelona
Mourinho has been keeping a close eye on the German's situation at the Emirates, as he looks to improve his squad. There are still reports that Ozil may not be willing to move to Barcelona given his Real Madrid connections.

This new option is a commonly requested feature, according to Facebook. As the outlet points out, Snooze also allow Pages and Groups to retain less-active users that would otherwise unlike a page or leave a group. The company said it will continue to invest in new research and work on developing more features to help users get the most out of social media.

With it, you can easily mute one or some of your friends' posts who keep on publishing irritating cat videos. You will receive a notification when a Snooze cycle comes to an end though, and it can be reversed at any time if you change your mind.

Facebook pushed back, saying it's become a socially conscious company in recent years. Facebook added a new feature that allows users to "Snooze" friends or groups on the social media site on Friday, Dec. 13, 2017. Other studies also showed that people only use social media and technology to pass the time.

Ginsberg and Burke said social media can have a positive effect on people when they use it for active interaction, such as sharing pictures, commenting on posts or chatting with friends. "Just like in person, interacting with people you care about can be beneficial, while simply watching others from the sidelines may make you feel worse".
