We want to see Parliament function, but PM is stubborn: Congress

2G verdict proves massive propaganda against UPA was baseless Manmohan

Much to the shock of the Congress, the Government conveyed to it formally on Thursday that Prime Minister Modi would neither apologise, nor give any clarification on the "conspiracy" charge he had levelled during the Gujarat poll against former PM Manmohan Singh and Vice-President Hamid Ansari.

Here's the damning part of justice Saini's verdict: "It was not Raja, but Pulok Chatterjee, in consultation with TKA Nair, (who) had suppressed the most relevant and controversial part of the letter of A Raja from the then hon'ble PM".

The BJP on Thursday cited a Supreme Court verdict on 2G spectrum to assert corruption in the case and claimed that a trial court order acquitting the accused was no "clean chit" to the opposition party. TKA Nair and Pulok Chaterjee were working as advisor and principal secretary of Singh.

It was proved by the fact that they had got bank drafts prepared on back dates, he said.

The special court even said that two important letters dated November 2, 2011, and December 26, 2011, written by Raja to Singh on the issue, were probably not even shown to Singh.

The court also dealt with the CBI's allegations that Raja had misled Singh on the issue of opinion of the law ministry to refer the issue to the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM).

The device runs Android Nougat out of the box with Samsung's new UI on top, the same one seen on its flagships S8 and S8 Plus. A new image added to the speculations that the Samsung Galaxy S9 will dedicate a better location for its fingerprint scanner.

The opposition party also alleged that former Comptroller and Auditor General Vinod Rai had acted as a "stooge" of the Bharatiya Janata Party and said the "concocted conspiracy of Modi, Union Minister Arun Jaitley and the BJP stood exposed" after the court verdict.

Singh then wrote to Raja that the licences needed to be allocated in a transparent manner. "We request the Prime Minister to understand the gravity of his charge and respond", Sharma said.

"Raja specifically informed PM about processing of large number of applications in the backdrop of inadequate spectrum".

The court also noted that Raja, in a five-page letter, had laid out the facts of the matter and had clearly recorded that after due consideration, TRAI and Telecom Commission had advised against auctioning the spectrum. "This was done only when the controversy broke out".

"Sh Pulok Chatterjee ought to have taken note of these facts in his earlier note dated 06.01.2008 itself, but he did not do so for the reasons best known to him and placed only a partial view before the then Hon'ble Prime Minister regarding spectrum related issues", the court notes in another page. "He (Siddhartha Behura) would not have dared to go against the PMO", the judge observed.
