Facebook now shows if your account was influenced by Russian propaganda

So many Russian memes on Facebook so little time

Coming under intense scrutiny for failing to prevent alleged Russian propaganda from spreading on its platform during the 2016 USA presidential election, Facebook has introduced a tool that lets some users check if they interacted with such posts in the run-up to the election. The tool also works for the social media giant's other big site, Instagram. Most of these propaganda related posts, according to TNW, were centered on gun control, LGBTQ issues, race and religion.

This week, Facebook made that a little easier with a tool that lets you know if you liked art followed a page that has been since linked to Russian Federation.

By this point, it's pretty much understood that Russian Federation attempted to influence the 2016 Presidential election in the United States through social media posts.

Union sues over Facebook job ads excluding older people
Goldman said that the practice was appropriate so long as the overall marketing by a company was "broad-based and inclusive". The same is not true of race or gender-based discrimination laws that are more strictly enforced, the report explains.

The portal will not only serve as tool to find out if you have been a victim of some Russian trolls, it will also serve to prevent a repeat anytime in the future.

The tool, available here, details Facebook's action plan for "protecting legitimate political discussion within our community and fighting foreign interference in elections".

The new tool by Facebook focuses exclusively on content supposed to have been created by the IRA, indicating if a person followed or liked a page or account that was controlled by it.

The tool is a part of ongoing effort to help users understand how foreign actors tried to divide voters by sowing seeds of mistrust before and after the last USA election.
