Nintendo Switch Becomes the Fastest-Selling Home Video Game System Since Launch

In keeping with Nintendo tradition, the Nintendo Switch looked like a bit of a risk when it launched in March 2017.

Now, with some 4.8 million sales in the United States alone, the Switch has surpassed 10-month sales records set by the previous record holder, the Wii, which managed 4 million units over the same time period.

"Fans across the country have experienced the joy of playing their favorite games at home or on the go ..."

This solution will work on ANY Nintendo Switch console regardless of the now installed firmware, and will be completely future proof.

Samsung Unveils the Exynos 9 SoC With AI, Face Recognition Features
The 10nm process technology, which is the most advanced in this stream till date, enables the Exynos 9810 to multitask seamlessly. According to Gadget 360, Exynos 9810 will introduce features like network-based deep learning algorithms and stronger security.

But those concerns appeared to be insubstantial as the Switch launched with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a stellar game which topped many "game of the year" lists. The company says 60% of Switch users own the game, but we're not sure if this is based on the current 10 million console sales milestone or standard "over 4.8 million sales" ten-month figure.

The 4.8 million Nintendo Switch units that the company sold in the United States since March 3rd, 2017 are the highest total for the first ten months of any home video game system in USA history. This record even surpasses the Wiis sales figures which saw approximately 4 million units sold during the same timeframe. In November 2017, it released an upgraded Xbox One X, which upon its debut became the most powerful video games console in history. Nintendo Switch owners also possess Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 at rates of more than 50 percent and 20 percent, respectively. Nintendo also points out to the consoles strong library fueling the systems epic run.

Finally, Nintendo confirmed that Switch owners can look forward to new games from EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Capcom, Sega, Take Two, and Bethesda in 2018. This is notably more than the preceding record holder, the Wii, which racked up 4 million in the same period. Tell us what you think below.
