In March Gander Mountain announced it was closing 32 stores, but eventually raised that number to 127, including locations in York and Franklin counties.

The company announced its plan to open 69 locations, including Flint Township, in a news release Thursday, Jan. 4, two days after posting the job openings for positions including sales associate, warehouse specialist and product specialist, on its Web site.

Lemonis's company, Camping World Holdings, purchased Gander Mountain in an April bankruptcy auction, promising to keep at least 70 of the 162 stores open.

Stores that were Gander Mountain in Coldwater, Flint, Kalamazoo, Marquette, Port Huron, Saginaw, Traverse City and Utica are now Gander Outdoors.

Among the stores in the newborn Gander Outdoors chain is the former Gander Mountain location at 725 Town Center Drive location in West Manchester Township.

Sears to Close An Additional 100+ Stores
No stores in the Northern San Joaquin Valley or Tuolumne County are on the latest closure lists for Sears and Kmart. During the most recent closings, the company shuttered Kmarts in Whitehall and South Whitehall Townships.

Marcus Lemonis, CEO and chairman of Camping World Holdings Inc., read a list of what he called "the final (Gander Outdoors) stores that have been worked out" Wednesday in a video he posted to Twitter.

At the York location, there will be a public grand opening event and an official-ribbon cutting ceremony with details to come. The outdoor equipment retailer filed for bankruptcy in spring 2017.

Gander Outdoors is an outdoor retailer that operates in local communities and online, dedicated to servicing the hunting, camping, fishing, shooting, and active sports markets.

Camping World is located in Lincolnshire, Ill. It also owns Good Sam Enterprises, Overtone's, The House, Uncle Dan's and Windward/W82.
