After Tense CNN Interview with Stephen Miller, President Trump Fires Back

Wolff went so far as to raise the spectre of the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution, in which a president's cabinet could attempt to remove him from office for being unable to perform his duties, although experts said that amendment was designed with the idea of a president being incapacitated by, for example, a coma.

(Miller, who was working for the campaign at the time, said he did not know anything about that meeting).

"This, is I think, not an exaggeration and it's not unreasonable to say: This is 25th Amendment kind of stuff", he told NBC's Chuck Todd. The author is a garbage author of a garbage book.

Donald Trump's least presidential moments so far.

".And with respect to the Trump Tower meeting that [Bannon's] talking about [in Wolff's book], [Bannon] wasn't even there when any of this went down".

During the contentious interview, Miller offered largely combative responses and focused on presenting Trump as a "political genius," repeatedly refusing to answer questions until Tapper made a decision to cut him off and move to the next segment. "Ok, that's not the story".

Wolff has said the book was based on White House access, conversations with Trump and interviews with senior staffers, including Bannon.

CNN host Jake Tapper clashed with senior White House policy adviser Stephen Miller over claims in "Fire & Fury: Inside The Trump White House", Michael Wolff's explosive new tell-all about President Donald Trump's campaign, presidential transition, and administration.

"He turned on his former colleague Steve Bannon and called his remarks in the book 'grotesque and vindictive.' And also said that CNN is 24 hours of anti-Trump hysteria". "To reiterate, those comments were not aimed at Don Jr".

Conservative political operative Corey Lewandowski, who managed Trump's campaign from January 2015 to June 2016, was similarly disturbed by Bannon's critiques.

"I've had to put up with the Fake News from the first day I announced that I would be running for President. Now I have to put up with a Fake Book, written by a totally discredited author", he tweeted. Ronald Reagan had the same problem and handled it well. On Twitter, Trump insisted that he was a "very stable genius" in defense of some critics speculating about his mental health.

British Prime Minister Theresa May dismissed concerns about Mr Trump's mental state after the book's publication, saying the President would still be visiting the United Kingdom in the future. But Trump was eager for the last word. The bill now has 56 co-sponsors.

Bannon expressed regret in a statement to Axios on Sunday and heaped praise on the Trump family, including Trump Jr., whom he described as "a patriot and a good man".
