Oprah for President? Twitter Says So During Golden Globes

The legendary talk show host, actress, and entrepreneur won the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2017 Golden Globes on January 7, and despite being an icon, she was still overwhelmingly grateful and humble as ever in her inspiring speech! Oprah Winfrey may have squashed speculation of a potential presidential bid in 2020, but Golden Globes host Seth Meyers isn't giving up hope just yet. "Each of us in this room are celebrated because of the stories we tell and this year, we became the story".

She expressed gratitude for Taylor and all the women who were silenced when they spoke their truth to powerful men, the women who worked in factories, farms, as domestic workers and in academia, whose names will never be known.

Winfrey's "A Wrinkle in Time" co-star Reese Witherspoon introduced the actor in a heartwarming speech, where she said, "Oprah's hugs can end wars".

Overall, 25 awards are given out - 14 for movies and 11 for TV - and, as usual, the 90-member HFPA has sprung more than a few surprises in the nominations, placing horror satire "Get Out" in the best comedy-musical category. "Tell her thank you for teaching us, for inspiring us, for encouraging us, thank you for seeing us'".
