Google Unites Payment Offerings As Google Pay

Google is merging Android Pay with Google Wallet, introducing a unified payment service called Google Pay. Accordingly, merchants will need to change their signage, Google said. Using Android Pay, users are allowed to pay in shops and stores without a physical credit card.

Senior VP of Fandango Mark Young said, "Google Pay provides a simple, intuitive option for Fandango customers to speed through checkout with just one tap".

Google, in all its infinite wisdom, is yet to come up with a single, unified platform for payments.

Google's move also enables the e-commerce giant to integrate consumers' account credentials now stored separately in Chrome to Google Pay, noted Rick Oglesby, president of AZ Payments Group.

If you've ever paid for groceries with Android Pay, used Chrome to automatically fill in your payment info, or purchased an app on Google Play, then you've already experienced some of the ways Google helps you pay for things online and in stores.
