Princess Charlotte starts nursery school

The Duchess of Cambridge released pictures of her daughter on Tuesday morning (AEDT) ahead of her first day, showing Charlotte sitting on steps in the grounds of Kensington Palace and another standing as she holds onto a rail.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share two photographs of Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace this morning", Kensington Palace said in a statement. The images were taken by her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, before Charlotte went Monday to the nearby Willcocks Nursery School in London.

Charlotte is starting nursery school at two years old, and the tuition at this place is literally as much as many people's salaries: £14,550, which works out to about $19,750.

Princess Charlotte, two, joined classes at the Willcocks Nursery School in London on January 8.

Charlotte wore a handsome red coat with gray tights, red shoes and a red bow in her hair.

Arsenal will look to Thomas Lemar if Alexis Sanchez leaves
The Premier League leaders are confident of signing the Chilean for a fee of £25m despite Arsenal's £35m asking price. But, poor form has done nothing to sway the interest of his suitors.

The princess wears a light pink scarf and backpack and smiles nervously as Kate Middleton takes her photo.

The nursery, which she will be attending full-time, uses lots of play to help children learn.

She will also be close by Thomas's Battersea, where her big brother George attends primary school. The photo has been used on the Cambridges' Christmas card.

Willcocks was last inspected by Ofsted in 2012 when the nursery was rated as "outstanding", with the report stating: "The educational programme is outstanding". Online: "We are overjoyed that Princess Charlotte was seen carrying Cath Kidston's Pony Rucksack on her first day of nursery".
