He issued a statement Sunday praising the president's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., whom he was quoted accusing of treasonous behavior in the book.
A report on the Breitbart website quotes Bannon saying, "I'm proud of what the Breitbart team has accomplished in so short a period of time in building out a world-class news platform".
A transcript of the full interview with the President published Thursday contained harsh words from Trump for his former confidant. Trump has been asking allies to choose between him and Bannon, and the choice among most has been clear.
Bannon has already hired lawyer Bill Burck to represent him during the scheduled January 16 testimony, NBC said, citing a source close to the former top Trump advisor.
Bannon could be an incredibly valuable witness for the special counsel, especially if his testimony matches up with McGahn and Priebus - who took the highly unusual step of keeping contemporaneous notes throughout his six months as chief of staff.
Nintendo Released almost a Dozen Big New Games for Switch
The sport title will be released this spring and promises to be a multiplayer go-to game, but with a single-player story mode too. Wave 1, releasing on January 31 will introduce the new battle character Aegislash with the support set Mega Rayquaza and Mimikyu.
The book's author, Michael Wolff, disputed Bannon's account.
Trump and other White House officials have attacked Bannon and the book, which they have said is riddled with lies. According to a statement from the company's chief executive, Larry Solov, Bannon and Breitbart will work together on a smooth transition.
He left Breitbart to join Trump on his presidential campaign in 2016, and Bannon would later become the White House chief strategist before leaving in August 2017 and returning to Breitbart.
Breitbart CEO Larry Solov added: "Steve is a valued part of our legacy, and we will always be grateful for his contributions and what he has helped us to accomplish". He also said he would like Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner to appear again before the committee while noting that the choice of witnesses is determined by the panel's Republican leadership. "The President pointed to that and also pointed that Mr Bannon is not in it for the country but instead in it for himself".
