Giant ice cream products were recalled

21 brands of orange cream and ice cream bars recalled

No illnesses have been reported to date, according to the FDA, but testing showed positive results for listeria after October 31.

Giant, along with its sister company Martin's, and Fieldbrook Foods Corp. made the joint announcement Wednesday for the recall, which includes Giant Arctic Bars in 12-count packages, Giant Orange Ice Cream Bars in 12-count packages and Polar Express Variety Pack in 30-count packages.

The bars were also sold at Aldi under the Sundae Shoppe name, at Dollar Tree under the Party Treat name, and at Acme under the Lucerne name. Listeria also can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women. The company said the recall is out of precaution. The product comes in a 12 ct retail box, has a production date of November 30, 2017 and a "best by" date of November 30, 2018.

Ivy League student found dead in California park where he went missing
Bernstein was reported missing when he didn't return home after he went walking in the park to meet another person on January 2. On Wednesday, Gideon Bernstein thanked community members through tears for their support in the efforts to find his son.

According to the FDA notice, listeria can cause symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, and can be fatal in young children, the elderly, and others with weak immune systems. Fieldbrook Foods is working with each of these retailers to recall the affected products.

Giant has recalled several products from its shelves because of possible Listeria contamination. The company has suspended production and distribution of all products produced on this production line while it cooperates with the FDA to fully investigate the source of the problem.

Anyone who has purchased the products are asked to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. The manufacturer can be reached by phone at 1-800-333-0805, ext.
