The former owner of a luxury British bra maker that supplied lingerie to Queen Elizabeth says the company lost its royal warrant after she wrote a book disclosing details of fittings at Buckingham Palace.

The working relationship of the former owner of Rigby & Peller, 82-year-old June Kenton, with the monarchy ended shortly after she published her biography, Storm in a D Cup, in March last year, the Express reports.

"I never ever thought when I was writing the book that it would upset anyone".

Rigby & Peller's United Kingdom office and Belgian parent company Van de Velde were unavailable for comment when contacted by Lingerie Insight.

Ms Kenton received a letter from the Lord Chamberlain a year ago stating that Rigby & Peller was to lose its royal warrant as a result of the autobiography. One of the most intimate reveals in the memoir is June's description of fitting the half-dressed Queen while the monarch was surrounded by her corgis.

In interviews, Mrs. Kenton revealed that Diana not only came for fittings, but ordered swimsuits designed in Israel and accepted posters showing models in lingerie and swimwear for princes William and Harry to display in their Eton studies.

She eventually sold it to Belgian lingerie company Van de Velde for £8million in 2011, but retained a seat on the board and continued to fit the Queen personally at least three times a year.

June was reportedly stripped of her title after penning a tell-all book about palace lingerie. "I pretend to listen to Margaret and then, once she has gone, I order what I want".

She also wrote about meeting Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace - focusing on her nervousness and surprise entering the royal bedroom.

Royal Warrants are given to brands and companies that officially supply goods or services to a member of the Royal Family.

Buckingham Palace has refused to be drawn into the matter, insisting it did not "comment on individual companies".

"I have never, ever spoken about what I do there with her, or the Queen Mother or Princess Margaret", she added."I've been honorable throughout my life - it's unbelievable they don't like the book, there's nothing in it that they could remotely be upset about", Mrs Kenton added.

Russell Tanguay, director of warrants at the Royal Warrant Holders Association, would not go into details about the decision on Rigby & Peller.

"However, the company will continue to provide an exemplary and discreet service to its clients", it said.

She also claimed to have given Princess Diana fittings.
