Russian Federation will work to preserve Iran nuclear deal, FM Lavrov says

US desperate after 'losing' five centuries of global influence – Russia

"When conditions for a transition to dialogue were developed, in most cases we witnessed provocative actions in the form of larger-scale military activities around Pyongyang, which provoked a new round of tension", Lavrov said. The Kremlin denies the accusations.

In his speech Monday, Lavrov expressed concern over Trump's rhetoric, saying that such language coupled with increased US military exercises in South Korea has "provoked a new escalation of tensions". As well, he said that Trump doesn't take the situation quite seriously, for he has tweeted on several times to criticize Pyongyang for its missile tests, and he has even boasted in tweets by saying that his nuclear button is bigger than Kim Jong Un's.

"I too have a Nuclear Button", Trump tweeted in response, "but it is much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!"

Lavrov also said the USA move "would not calm the situation" in Syria's Afrin district, which borders Turkey, adding that Russian Federation expects Washington to explain its move. Although Lavrov did not mention it, Trump has also.

We do not ‘tit-for-tat.' But we can not tolerate all these absolutely illegal actions, ' the Minister noted.

The Russian government has broadly supported sanctions on North Korea's regime in the past as a way of curbing its nuclear military program.

"Unfortunately, our American colleagues and their allies still want to do business exclusively on the basis of issuing ultimatums and do not want to listen to the views of other centers of world politics", he said when asked about Trump's position on the Iran nuclear deal.

I am not a racist, says Trump
After Trump's disgusting remarks, he was quickly condemned by fellow politicians, reporters, celebrities, and the general public. In addition, voters must "rid the House and the Senate of as many of Trump's defenders, apologists and accomplices as possible".

Lavrov warned Washington not to back out.

The US leadership's recent statements about possibly ending the Iran nuclear agreement "bring no optimism or stability", Lavrov said during his annual beginning-of-the-year press conference.

Changes to Iran's nuclear agreement with the United States could have broader negative effects, namely on North Korea, which could view Iran's experience as a cautionary tale with implications for its own approach to the West, Lavrov said. He said that Germany would analyze the situation with its European partners. Both Russia and China agree in principle that the regime should not attain weapons of mass destruction, however the country's two northern neighbors have repeatedly blamed the USA for Pyongyang's progress in developing capabilities in the first place. Russian Federation has long denied meddling in the vote.

He also accused the United States of attempting to persuade the European Union not to build a proposed gas pipeline that diverts Russian gas from the pipes that go all over Ukraine.

Speaking at his annual news conference in Moscow, Lavrov said the US move "can't serve to calm the situation" in Afrin, which borders Turkey, adding that Kremlin wants Washington to explain its decision.

A close process of consolidation of efforts on integration of the Eurasian space was also observed, Lavrov said, adding that the two countries have agreed to promote the integration of their Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Belt and Road initiatives.
