White House Doctor Says Trump Is In 'Excellent' Physical, Cognitive Health

Hope Hicks could face the panel as early as this week as the focus turns to pinpoint who was part of the inner circle of Donald Trump's presidential campaign

US President Donald Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon has been subpoenaed by special counsel Robert Mueller to testify before a grand jury in a probe into alleged ties between Russian Federation and Mr Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, according to the New York Times.

The House committee has been interviewing several people close to the president, including former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and White House aide Rick Dearborn.

Axios said executive privilege probably wouldn't apply to the Mueller interview, because Mueller is working for the executive branch.

General Kelly added that Bannon is basically persona non grata in the Trump White House.

That would be a sea change from the tight-lipped sit-down Bannon had with lawmakers on Tuesday.

It was reported on Tuesday that Bannon was subpoenaed last week to appear before Mueller's grand jury, which is empaneled in Washington, D.C. Bannon was subpoenaed after the publication of a tell-all book by Michael Wolff quoted him speaking candidly about Donald Trump Jr. and White House adviser Jared Kushner. Bannon reportedly named House Speaker Paul Ryan (WI) and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY). During a "60 Minutes" interview back in September, you might recall, Bannon labeled Comey's firing the single biggest mistake in modern political history.

White House lawyers to date have prided themselves on their cooperation with Mueller, making documents and witnesses available upon request without asserting privileges that could slow the investigation in a protracted legal fight.

If Bannon continues to refuse to answer questions, he could be held in contempt of Congress.

Congress confident of poll victory in 3 northeastern states
The Chief Election Commissioner said that VVPATs will be used with EVMs during the polling in the three states. The Congress hopes to cash in on the "mistrust of the people that NPF has earned because of its misrule".

Jackson, who has been the lead White House doctor since 2013, said that he has interacted with the president several times a day for the past year and saw no need for a cognitive test. Jackson said that the president is "very sharp" in their conversations and does not repeat himself.

Bannon's attorney, Bill Burck, spoke with Uttam Dhillon, deputy White House counsel.

The official would not say what the White House wants to discuss with House Intelligence or what questions about Bannon's time on the transition or in the White House the administration would seek to block.

Despite the attempt to limit questioning of Bannon, the White House official insisted the administration is not asserting executive privilege.

The President has been left irritated by the investigation into Russian meddling during the 2016 election campaign and said last month the 'Democrats have been unable to show any collusion with Moscow'. Peter Carr, a spokesman for the special counsel's office, declined comment.

It's hard not to think Bannon's initial loyalty to Trump during the House Committee interview has nothing to do with he and the president's recent falling out.

→ Not sure about you, readers, but this had me thinking, what the what?

Bannon's appearance was voluntary and he did not formally invoke any form of executive privilege, which as a non-administration official, Rep.
