On Monday Pakistan said four of its soldiers were killed during Indian firing along the heavily militarized Line of Control, the disputed section of the border in southern Kashmir. On the other hand, the Pakistani authorities had alleged that the firing on villages in Chaprar sector of Sialkot district was initiated by the BSF resulting into the death of two women and injuries to five civilians.

At least 32 Border Security Force (BSF) posts along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir have been retaliating to ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops since last night. On the other hand, a BSF jawan has been martyred in firing by Pakistani troops in Samba.

Senior officials of the Punjab Rangers said the Indians continued shelling the Sialkot border villages nearly during the whole night between Thursday and Friday, and during the day on Friday. "I pray that the hostility on the borders ends soon", she said. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital.

Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umer Farooq during his Friday sermon in Srinagar also expressed concern over killing of civilians and soldiers on border pressing for immediate resolution of Kashmir issue.

WSU community mourns the loss of Tyler Hilinski
Thoughts and prayers are with the Hilinski family. "The tragic news today surrounding Tyler Hilinski is devastating to all. WSU coach Mike Leach said this in a WSU news release: "We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Tyler's passing".

"Because of their experiences of suffering, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are very conscious that these irresponsible statements can escalate into a full-blown war between the two nuclear powers and lead to awful brutalization, primarily of the people of Jammu and Kashmir".

This is the third exchange of fire between the two countries in this sector in past three days, officials said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu Arun Manhas said the district administration asked all its officers to remain in a state of highest preparedness in view of continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan. Over 1,000 people are housed in camps in RS Pura, Sambha and Kathua area.

India and Pakistan signed a ceasefire agreement in November 2003, which have been violated several times, especially when the political relationship between the two nuclear neighbors deteriorates.
