Liverpool won't sign Coutinho replacement in January: Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the Reds will not replace Philippe Coutinho in the January transfer window despite links to Monaco's Thomas Lemar and Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez.

Coutinho joined Barcelona for £142million this month, leaving Klopp without one of his squad's most potent attacking threats, but the German does not feel the need to rush out for an addition.

"He said that he wouldn't sell Philippe Coutinho straight after he bought Virgil van Dijk - he went and sold him the next day".

"We can stop thinking about it".

"It's not about replacing players - it's about using our own opportunities and our own tools, players, tactics, formations".

Pochettino Reveals Three Teams He Will Never Manage
I grew up in Newell's Old Boys and will never manage Rosario Central . "That is my decision - I prefer to work on my farm in Argentina than in some places".

"We started in front, our offensive play was okay, but in the defence we had problems", Matip told Liverpoolfc.com after the West Brom defeat.

After handing Manchester City their only defeat of the season so far, Liverpool dropped points away to Swansea City thanks to a 1-0 defeat whilst crashing out of the FA Cup to West Bromwich Albion. "Nothing in training gave me a sign that the boys misjudged the success or result against Man City, or the performance", he explained.

"There are a lot of games to play, a lot of big challenges waiting for us and we have to be ready", he said. There is not something out there for us to get because we think first of all we have to use our players'.

"In the long term we will do a lot but in the short term not a lot will happen".

And speaking ahead of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Huddersfield on Tuesday night, Klopp slammed how little time had been added on at the end of the first period as his side looked for a way back into the game. "Emre is still a young lad but he has developed into a great player and is very important for us".
