West Ham win race to sign Hugill

Jordan Hugill of Preston North End celebrates scoring the opening goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Preston North End at Amex Stadium on October

West Ham are closing on the £8million signing of Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill.

The Sun previously claimed that Crystal Palace had agreed a fee for Hugill, which prompted Deepdale bosses to deny a deal is in place.

Now the burly striker has taken to Twitter with an emotional message to Preston and West Ham fans as he realises a dream of playing in the Premier League.

However, Preston said in a statement "they could not stand in his way for the chance of top-flight football".

Hugill, 25, is travelling to east London ahead of potential deadline day transfer, according to Sky Sports.

Hugill has really emerged as one of the Championship's leading talents in the last season and a half - scoring 10 goals in 29 games for Preston so far this term.

12-year-old in custody after two shot at middle school
Preliminary information indicated she was 12, said Steve Zipperman, chief of the Los Angeles Unified School District police force. The middle school is located on the Belmont High School campus and has about 365 students in grades six through eight.

"I'm going to give absolutely everything for this club and for my team-mates".

"Now the dust has settled and it's had time to sink in a bit, I think it's the right time to say thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far", Hugill said on Twitter.

"It's fantastic to know I'm a Premier League footballer, to know where I've come from in the last five years to where I am now in the Premier League is wonderful".

During his early career, he was loaned to Conference Premier side Gateshead where he scored five goals in four starts and three substitute appearances.

The 25-year-old is acting fast to get a move to the Hammers with him already on his way to London, so Hugill is certainly keen to join the club.
