Counter-Strike Co-Creator Arrested Over Sexual Exploitation Of A Child

Jess Cliffe, one of two creators of the iconic first-person shooter game Counter-Strike, was arrested and booked for sexual exploitation of a child in Seattle Thursday morning, local station KINO 7 reported Thursday.

In a statement provided to Mashable, video game developer Valve said that Cliffe has been suspended until more details come out.

USA to impose arms embargo on S. Sudan to end war
South Sudan descended into war in mid-December 2013 when Kiir accused his former deputy Riek Machar of plotting a coup. South Sudan is the worlds youngest country, and has been supported by the US since it's inception in 2011.

Cliffe has been a part of Valve since 2003, initially co-creating alongside Minh "Gooseman" Le in 1999 as a mod to the incredibly popular Half-Life. He's remained an employee of the company since, helping work on Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and Portal 2. Police have not yet commented further on the case. While it's not clear what led to Cliffe's arrest, according to KIRO 7's televised report, prosecutors say an arrest of this type "typically. indicates creating child porn". Police haven't released any details on the arrest, nor have they said whether a child was actually harmed. The newest version of the game, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, is among the most popular games on Steam. He's known as the voice of Counter-Strike, voicing the phrase "Counter-Terrorists Win!" and countless other VO in the game. No bond has been set, and a bail hearing is reportedly taking place later today. He has no criminal record, though there was an assault case against Cliffe in 2013 that was dismissed.
