The new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is available in both petrol and diesel engine options, and for the first time get the option of a diesel automatic as well. The petrol variant starts from Rs 4.99 lakh, and the diesel one from Rs 5.99 lakh.

The new Swift is available in a total of 12 variants, with two engine and two transmission options.

Petrol - LXi: Rs. 4.99 lakhs, VXi: Rs. 5.87 lakhs, VXi AMT: Rs. 6.34 lakhs, ZXi: Rs. 6.49 lakhs, ZXi AMT: Rs. 7.26 lakhs and ZXi+: Rs. 7.29 lakhs.

The all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift is a complete departure from its predecessor and is built on the modern and lighter Heartect platform. There's an updated cabin and new LED headlamps and DRLs as well.

Inside, the new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift boasts of better quality materials and a more upmarket cabin.

Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO said: "Since it's launched in 2005, Swift has been the country's favorite hatchback selling more than 1.8 million units". The auto has around 24mm more headroom. As far as safety is concerned, the all-new Swift gets Dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Dual front airbags, and Isofix child seat mounts as standard features.

The new Swift gets totally revamped interiors, with the top-end model getting Maruti's SmartPlay infotainment system that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity apps. The vehicle also comes with the familiar SmartPlay infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with Auto climate control on the top variants. Maruti Suzuki first showcased its concept future in 2004 which translated into Swift.
