Forecasts show an 80 percent chance for snow persists on Saturday night and on Sunday as well.

"The snow is here and we can expect anywhere from 4"-7", 5"-9", or even up to 10" of snow in Ingham County. "Much of the Stateline will see around 1" of new snow accumulation, with Lee, southern DeKalb, and southern Whiteside counties getting closer to 2" of accumulation. "We're up to it".

The storm system stretching from western Montana to southern MI could drop up to 14 inches (36 cm) of snow in some areas, the National Weather Service said. Ten inches were reported in parts of northern IL and 8 inches in northern Indiana.

The snow from a winter storm moving across the Great Lakes is leaving roads treacherous, closing schools and cancelling hundreds of flights across the upper Midwest. Still, we may see another inch or two during the day tomorrow around SE Lower Michigan with temps in the upper 20s again tomorrow afternoon.

The Chicago Department of Aviation says roughly 550 flights were canceled at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and about 230 flights were canceled at Chicago's Midway Airport. More than 200 flights were also canceled Friday morning at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
