Tommy Wiseau Wants To Play The Joker For Todd Phillips

The proposed origin story will exist in a separate continuity strand to Suicide Squad and other DC Extended Universe films such as Justice League and Wonder Woman in a new series of standalone stories.

The Joker origin story standalone movie is moving ahead at DC and Warner Bros. with Joaquin Phoenix as the top choice for the lead role... Hence, it goes without saying that, in the event that Phoenix really top-bills the upcoming project, Jared Leto will still be the Joker in the DCEU brand, including in the upcoming "Suicide Squad 2".

The latest juicy tidbit comes out of Variety, which reports that Phoenix is director Todd Phillips' first choice for the role of the Joker, and that after some talks, Phoenix has tenatively agreed to star in the film as the Clown Prince of Crime. The project has been described as "gritty" quite often, and is expected to be different than the average comic book movie. And one that looks poised to star Joaquin Phoenix, one of the most enigmatic but fascinating character actors working today. He was also in talks for Disney-Marvel's "Doctor Strange", but passed on that as well.

Phoenix was considered for the role of Lex Luthor in "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice".

Reveal Rafale's buying price: Rahul Gandhi to BJP
According to ANI, as the party's bus arrived, a large number of Congress supporters were present to receive Gandhi. Gandhi accused Modi govt of waiving loans of industrialists but not doing anything about the debts of the farmers.

The studio had tapped The Hangover director Todd Phillips previous year to co-write a script with scribe Scott Silver.

As alluded to earlier, Leto will not be featured in this film, since the movie would fall under a yet-to-be-announced new banner of DC Comics that would give rise to a whole new set of original storylines.

Legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese is said to be attached as producer to the movie, which will lend inspiration from his films "Taxi Driver" and "Raging Bull", both of which are dark masterpieces, Comicbook.com reported. He was most recently seen in the Gus Van Sant film "He Won't Get Far on Foot".
