The Nokia brand is now clearly making its way back into the global mobile market with accelerated growth, thanks to the several smartphone announcements by the company in 2017. Citing retail sources NPU claims that the Nokia 1, Nokia 6 (2018) edition, and Nokia 8 Sirocco, which is also referred as Nokia 9 in some reports, will be released in India starting April. The event will also mark the global debut of Nokia 6 (2018), the revamped version of the Nokia 6 that was launched in China in January this year.

Nokia which is owned by HMD Global has started rolling out the latest stable build of Android 8.1 Oreo for Nokia 8.The update comes with build number V4.84A.Its a major update for the device and being rolled as OTA (Over-the-air) update. Nokia 9, going by the rumoured specifications, will be the most powerful smartphone made by HMD till date.

The smartphone will come with only one internal storage option of 64 GB and two RAM variants - 4 GB and 6 GB. During the launch today, Xiaomi is also planning to launch a new device which is expected to be a Mi TV.

These sales have propelled Nokia to owning 15% of the feature phone market and 1% share of the smartphone scene; combined, this gives HMD Global and Nokia a 5% share of the total smartphone market, Counterpoint says, which definitely spells good news for the company.

To recall, Nokia 6 (2018) comes with a 5.5-inch full HD with a screen resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and 2.5d curved display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The model essentially improves upon chipset, RAM, and storage. It boasts a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It now runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo and is powered by a 3000 mAh non-removable battery with fast charging.
