Russian cargo plane crashes in Syria, killing all 32 aboard

In 2016, a Russian military passenger jet crashed on its way to Syria, killing 92 people, including military singers, dancers and entertainers.

Officials said the aircraft crashed at Russia's Hmeymim air base in the war-torn Middle Eastern country's Latakia Province. Earlier last month, Russian domestic passenger plane had crashed in Moscow minutes after taking off from Domodedovo airport.

Interfax quoted a spokeswoman for Russia's Investigative Committee, which handles high-profile cases, as saying Russian investigators have been dispatched to Syria to look into the crash. US forces last month may have killed more than 200 Russian mercenaries who attacked a base held by mainly Kurdish troops, though Russia has denied any official involvement in that clash.

It says the plane went down about 500m (1640ft) from the runway.

The military base of Russian Federation in Syria is located the d near Mediterranean coast. The pilot reportedly ejected over an area controlled by militants.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions to Visit Sacramento, Make 'Major Sanctuary Jurisdiction Announcement'
The DOJ alleges that the laws in question are preempted by federal law and violate the supremacy clause of the constitution. Sessions planned to discuss the lawsuit Wednesday at an annual gathering of law enforcement officers in Sacramento.

Moscow helped turn the tide of the conflict in Assad's favor by launching a campaign of air strikes in 2015 and stepping up its military presence on the ground.

Russian Federation is also said to have lost nine military aircraft in Syria since it entered that country's civil war. But casualties continue to mount. "According to preliminary information, the crash may have been caused by mechanical failure", it added.

Opinion polls indicate most Russians support the Syria intervention. For the sake of what are these people dying?

The deadly raids were the biggest direct clash between U.S. and Russian forces since the end of the Cold War. Gudkov said in a social media post.
