Jimmy Kimmel mocks Trump for thinking he caused the Oscars' low ratings

Jimmy Kimmel Reminds Donald Trump of His Own Low Ratings After Oscars Tweet

President Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to blast the record-low TV ratings for the Oscars.

Kimmel couldn't stop himself: "Trump always has a problem with the Academy Awards, which is surprising because I really think he would really love the Best Picture victor, 'The Shape of Water.' The movie, if you haven't seen it, is about a monster who has sex with a woman who can't talk about it". Ratings have been steadily dropping since 2014 when the Academy Awards ceremony garnered 43.7 million viewers.

Its inevitable arrival on Tuesday gave Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel, whose monologue this year was relatively light on Trump jokes, a full day's worth of material to work with. "Problem is, we don't have Stars anymore-except your President (just kidding, of course)!" tweeted the president.

"I also want to point out - because I know he would hate it - that my tweet got more than twice as many likes as his tweet".

According to FiveThirthyEight, Trump's current approval rating sits at 40.4%.

The Vinson will mark the biggest us military presence in the country since 1975 when it berths in Danang for a five-day stay. Sputnik: What response can we expect to see from China? It marks a fine-tuning, rather than a turning point, in relations.

The Oscars telecast on Sunday night was in fact the lowest-rated in the show's history.

The back-and-forth started yesterday when the president tweeted: "Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY". It's about a monster who has sex with a woman who can't talk about it.

Jimmy Kimmel also said the U.S. president has often criticised the Oscars but he might be impressed with this year's Best Picture victor, "The Shape of Water".

"Basically, it's like his life's story", he joked of Trump.

The 50-year-old TV host clapped back at President Trump for the latter's tweet, degrading the 90th Annual Academy Awards, which was hosted by Kimmel himself.
