Jurassic World Pokemon Go-Like AR Mobile Game Announced

Jurassic World Alive seems to be an interesting prospect; one that will incite excitement in fans.

Variety reports that Jurassic World Alive will be "the first Jurassic World mobile game that will use augmented reality to allow users to interact with dinosaurs as if they were physically present". She has experience in developing a couple of park management mobile games based on Jurassic Park. Gamers are encouraged to catch as numerous 100 dinosaurs (upon initial release) and collect DNA to help make them the biggest beast that they can. Jurassic World Alive will come to both Android and iOS in the spring, ahead of the the new Jurassic Park film, called Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which debuts on 22 June in the US.

The success for Jurassic World will also encourage the game developers to green light other AR projects like Harry Potter, Ghostbuster and The Walking Dead which are presently in the works.

Jurassic World Alive is the result of a partnership between franchise holders Universal and videogame developers Ludia, and is the third title to be produced by the partnership. The little prehistoric dinos pop up on the in-game map around you, just like Pokemon, and there are even some that are unique to specific real world areas...you know, just like Pokemon. Players can pre-register for the game online now.

Uber's former CEO Travis Kalanick starts fund to invest in tech start-ups
He did not disclose the size and nature of the fund but it is understood that he will use his personal earnings to kickstart it. It's been 9 months since Travis Kalanick was forced to resign from Uber and now he's got a new project on the way.

"Jurassic World Alive" is part of Universal's foray into gaming having expanded its game development team in recent months.

From the relative safety of their own homes, players can collect nearby dinosaurs' DNA by deploying an in-game drone.

If we had to use augmented reality for one thing, it would be to see dinosaurs in real life.

Ludia is the flawless company to develop a Jurassic game for iOS and Android. Much like the Indominous Rex and Indominous Raptor, you can level up and genetically modify dinosaurs. A year after its release the game had been downloaded more than 750 million times, making other major franchises crane their necks.
