Hazaras Protest After an ISIS Attack Kills 10 in Kabul

A security guard, Ali Reza, said he saw the suicide attacker walk into a line of Hazaras waiting to enter a mosque complex for a ceremony commemorating a revered leader, Abdul Ali Mazari, a veteran of the 1980s war against the Soviet Union.

The local TOLO news said the explosion occurred close to Mosalla-e-Mazari area in Kabul's sixth district.

The bomber appeared to have meant to attack a crowd gathered for the anniversary celebrations of the death of Abdul Ali Mazari, a Hazara political leader killed by the Taliban in 1995, but he was stopped before reaching the main gathering.

Hailing Afghanistan's decision of initiating a new peace plan to the Taliban to end violence, Akbaruddin stated, "The Afghan Government issued a new call for peace and proposed a concrete approach to the Taliban to join the mainstream".

Fazlullah is known for training suicide bombers, and was the target of a USA drone strike that killed over 20 militants on Wednesday.

His confirmation came a day after officials said the drone targeted a compound, and Khurasani said those killed in the strike were seminary students.

"We were inside the mosque when a loud explosion took place".

Saikal said worldwide forums, including the United Nations were never opened to comprehensive discussion for required debate on state-sponsored terrorism, he lodged a complaint.

In return, Ghani said the militants should officially recognise the Afghan government and constitution, a perennial sticking point in past attempts at dialogue.

"The offer of negotiation is on the table", United Nations envoy to Afghanistan Tadamichi Yamamoto told a Security Council meeting on March 8.

Before Ghani's offer, the Taliban had called for direct talks with Washington.

The top United Nations envoy for Afghanistan on Thursday urged the Taliban to engage in peace talks with the government since the latter has offered talks without preconditions. Despite cautious optimism for a peace deal, Kabul remains on high alert, fearing further violence. In that time, a luxury hotel was stormed by gunmen and bombers, a military training academy was raided and an ambulance filled with explosives detonated on a busy street.

Meanwhile, in northern Afghanistan, the Taliban assaulted an army outpost overnight in an hours-long firefight, and ambushed policemen sent to help the troops, killing six soldiers and 10 members of the local police.
