Phillips has expanded its popular "Hue" smart lights range to "the great outdoors".

All of the new products will be available in time for summer barbecue season, and each will sync with your existing Hue Bridge via Zigbee.

Phillips' Hue lights can be controlled remotely via the connected app, with location awareness feature prompting the lights to turn on once a person comes home.

The new range joins the same ecosystem and communicates via ZigBee using the Philips Hue Hub. Philips Hue Calla Alternatively, the Philips Hue Calla is flawless for path lighting and can also be used to enhance your outdoor space.

Spotlights such as the new Philips Hue Lily will be used to enhance key design features in gardens such as potted plans or flower beds. Another new light, Calla, is designed for path lighting. The Hue white and color ambiance range is based on a plug and play system, making installation easy and allowing for full flexibility to position wherever you need light.

Philips' will offer three different types of lights in the outdoor Hue lineup, and they will be available in both the Philips Hue white and Philips Hue white and color ambiance ranges.

You can get the bulbs starting in July throughout the United States and Europe. Another bulb, the Calla (see the theme?), is priced at $129.99 and is meant to be installed in walkways and paths. The PAR38 floodlight and the three wall fixtures are all Hue White products, meaning they don't change colors. Other products in the outdoor range are called Lucca, Tuar, Turaco and Ludere and will start at $49.99.
