AAP's Punjab Chief Mann resigns after Delhi CM Kejriwal tenders apology letter

On Thursday, Kejriwal tendered an apology for making "unfounded" allegations against Shiromani Akali Dal leader Majithia following which the SAD leader chose to withdraw the court case against him. "Hence there should be no politics on such issues". In his apology, Kejriwal said he had learnt that his allegations were unfounded.

AAP unit of Punjab said Kejriwal tendered an apology to Majhithia without any consultation. "We can not be associated with a party whose main leader meekly surrendered by tendering apology to former minister Bikram Singh Majithia", LIP leader and MLA Simarjeet Singh Bains said here today. Today, Kejriwal ji has murdered AAP by apologising to Majithia. "I will withdraw the case, which I had filed for what is right and for my own and my family's honour".

Khaira, who is also leader of opposition in Punjab Assembly, said even state unit chief and co-chief Bhagwant Mann and Aman Arora respectively were also not taken into confidence by Delhi education minister Manish Sisodia in a meeting held with them two days back. The SAD leader later made a decision to withdraw a defamation case against the Delhi chief minister. "We in Punjab have not been taken into loop".

Incidentally, this is not the first time that Kejriwal has tendered an apology.

Sandhu went on to take a dig at Kejriwal, "if you stand for truth, facing defamation cases are a way of life". Bhagwant Mann, in protest, resigned from his post as the president of the party in the state throwing throwing AAP Punjab into a crisis.

Lok Insaf Party chief Simarjit Singh Bains claimed that most of the MLAs were in favour of forming a new party. Other AAP MLAs including Kanwar Sandhu and Sukhpal Singh Khaira are also angry and are openly so.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had apologised for levelling charges of involvement in drugs trade against ex-Punjab min Bikram Singh Majithia. "These cases have been foisted by our political rivals to demotivate us and keep our leadership busy in these legal matters", Bharadwaj said.

Majithia said another Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashish Khetan too had submitted his offer of regret.
