Despite being cheap, the Apple's upcoming iPad might support the Apple Pencil

They also add that the tech giant isn't stalling their devices this year, which pretty much confirms that we'll be seeing a new iPhone device this fall of 2018.

Bloomberg.com reports that the company has scheduled an event at Lane Technical College Prep High School in Chicago where it plans to unveil a new version of its cheapest iPad that is created to appeal to the education market.

Next week's event also will provide an opportunity for Apple to highlight the work it's doing with Chicago schools. There could be a lot of value to larger devices, like the 10.5- or 12.9-inch iPad Pro, folding in half. Given the lack (or lackluster) upgrades that Apple has made to the iPad mini in recent times, we suppose this doesn't come as a complete surprise. The media invite also reveals the fact that Apple Pencil will also be launched.

At the moment it is hard to imagine how the market will react to the emergence of such devices - after all foldable smartphone is comfortable only during transport, but to open it several times a day to view messages or dialing want not everyone. You will have to shell out another $99 to buy the pencil stylus.

In October a year ago, Korean media outlet "The Investor" claimed Apple and LG Display -LG's screen-making subsidiary- are jointly working on the foldable iPhone. The aim of the Apple Pencil is to enable people to identify a low-priced Android tablet with the iPad.

Apple's new iPad: 5 things to know
Just over 13m units were sold over the Christmas period, with revenue rising 6 per cent year-on-year to $5.9bn (£11.2bn). The new 9.7-inch iPad is available starting today at a price of $329 for regular customers and $299 for schools.

For what it is worth, the invitation the company sent out for its forthcoming special event features an Apple logo which was seemingly designed using the Apple Pencil.

Apple may be preparing to release a new iPad that is its cheapest model yet. There are no specific details about the software available as of late.

After Apple CFO Luca Maestri prepared analysts in January for a big decline in prices this quarter, Piecyk muses there might actually be room for a little upside.

The last Apple Education Event took place six years ago, and it had nothing to do with hardware announcements, but signs point towards alluring hardware in order to sell educational software. The other two companies have established their presence in the academic community by offering cheap laptops and tablets. Still, it should offer insight into Apple's efforts to appeal to students, teachers, and consumers on a budget.

We all know that Apple does not cut corners when it comes to their products, that's why it's always safe to say that, more than anything else, Apple will be bumping up the performance of their new device.
