Rapper apologizes after NRA interview backlash

Students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida

The MC posted a series of videos on his social media platforms after a chat with the NRA went live where Mike discussed his advocacy work and proclaimed that in "Wakanda, everyone had guns, and spears and everything else you needed".

In response, Render issued a two-part video apology on Twitter, in which he claimed the "interview was used a week later by NRATV to disparage a very noble campaign that I actually support".

On Saturday, thousands gathered around the country for the March For Our Lives protest to rally for gun control following the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. "What I want to encourage you guys to do is keep organizing".

After sitting for an interview with the National Rifle Association, Killer Mike faced a backlash after the NRA chose to post his interview on the same day as March For Our Lives, a choice which Mike says he had nothing to do with. "It's possible to do both", the rapper added.

The other half of Run The Jewels, El-P, also had his say on the march. "Gun-hating billionaires and Hollywood elites are manipulating and exploiting children as part of their plan to DESTROY the Second Amendment and strip us of our right to defend ourselves and our loved ones".

Kansas Delivers a Knockout Punch to Advance to the Final Four
WINING UGLY: Villanova and MI should arrive in Texas with an extra bit of confidence after winning games when they shot poorly. I do think playing Duke in that game helped us. "But remember, they're going to have to find a way to match up with us, too".

El-P also stated in a Twitter post Sunday that he has also received a lot of criticism after Mike's stance in the NRA video, but he made it clear that his opinion is different and that the two men stand for themselves, speak for themselves. On that day, the NRA tweeted 13 times - including one that contained an image of an AR-style rifle along with the message, "I'll control my own guns, thank you".

All jokes aside, if Killer Mike wants to talk about black people and their ability to own guns as a way of self-policing and protecting their own neighborhoods, that can be the beginning of an interesting, nuanced conversation. If you walk out of that school, walk out of my house, ' " Killer Mike said, according to Slate.com. "Not everyone is so able to admit when they do as Killer Mike is here".

Some fans of Killer Mike were disappointed by his views following the original NRATV interview, which he says was recorded a week before it was shared.

Killer Mike also argues that mainstream progressive movements responsible for massive protests aren't always allies for the black community's issues. "They have no idea how much each of us would give for it to be February 13th again", he said, referring to the day before the shooting.
