Tiger Shroff's 'Baaghi 2' emerges as biggest opener of 2018

Tiger Shroff's 'Baaghi 2' emerges as biggest opener of 2018

The film is a sequel to the 2016 film "Baaghi". Saibal Chatterjee in his review for NDTV said: " Baaghi 2 is more a two-and-a-half-hour stunt show than a genuine piece of cinema". The first film in the series was noted for its action scenes and was quite a big success at the box office.

Baaghi helmed by Sabbir Khan starred Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor and had an opening collection of Rs. 11.94 crores. Film has banked 25 massive crores on first day which is the highest of 2018, even bigger than Padmaavat.

The film has achieved a milestone by becoming the highest opener of 2018 followed by the highest Good Friday opener ever. The film doesn't have much competition either, as Rani Mukerji's Hichki and Ajay Devgn's Raid do not possess much commercial value. The movie also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Prateik Babbar, Randeep Hooda and Deepak Dobriyal.

The actioner tells the story of Ronnie, an army officer, who has to find his ex-lover's daughter.

In 2016, a viral video showed her severely injured, lying near a drain in Mutiara Damansara. She used the k-word almost 50 times during a racist tirade after a smash-and-grab incident.

The screening of the film further proves to celebrate their daredevil attitude, enormous hard work and risk-taking stunts/action that they put in one film. The actor, while promoting Baaghi 2, failed to name India's president. "The numbers are an eye-opener", tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Trade sources said the opening day earning of the film in West Asia is 325000 United States dollars, the second highest opening day collections in West Asia after 'Padmaavat '.

Another flop credited to Tiger's career, this movie grossed an opening collection of Rs. 6.65 crores with a life-time collection of Rs. 32.89 crores.

The second installment of Bollywood's hit action franchise Baaghi is hitting theatres on March 30.
