'Dancing With The Stars: Athletes' Reveal Who Will Be Joining Season 26

Skating legend Tonya Harding will take to the dance floor

I'll admit that I never really watched Dancing With The Stars until a couple of seasons ago when former Chicago Cub David Ross competed since I'm a life-long Cubs fan.

Figure skaters Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu gave stellar performances when they hit the ice rink in February.

ABC confirmed the list of athletes that will be competing on this year's season of "Dancing with the Stars: Athletes", the announcements were made on ABC's "Good Morning America" earlier this morning. Numerous athletes that have been selected to dance on Dancing with the Stars were heavily featured in the past Winter Olympics at Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Rippon has been working towards his reported goal of hosting a reality TV show with Ellen DeGeneres ever since his medal and social media-winning performance at the Pyeongchang Games. He will be partnered with professional partner Jenna Johnson.

Others are poking some fun at the announcements, notably the addition of Tonya Harding, who returned to spotlight this year with the release of Oscar-nominated I, Tonya, and is most famous for her feud with Nancy Kerrigan.

Markelle Fultz becomes NBA's first teen to notch triple-double
Fultz played the first four games of the season then was taken out to rehabilitate his shoulder which affected his jump shot. Actually, I wouldn't say that because I don't think I'm ready to play, because it still doesn't feel all the way right.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and partner Lindsay Arnold will appear on "Dancing with the Stars".

Harding, Nagasu and Rippon will face off with retired NBA player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, NFL star Josh Norman, retired Major League Baseball player Johnny Damon, Notre Dame basketball player Arike Ogunbowale, Olympic snowboarder Jamie Anderson, Olympic luger Chris Mazdzer and Olympic softball player Jennie Finch.

Arike Ogunbowale, who led Notre Dame women's basketball to the NCAA championship with two buzzer-beating shots in the Final Four, is the younger sister of former 'Skins practice squad running back Dare Ogunbowale.

With a cast full of athletes, this may be the show's most intense season yet.
