Tiger Roll clings on for victory in thrilling Grand National

Tiger Roll might be small in stature but he's a giant in his heart and he's just claimed an incredible win in the Grand National.

Trained by Betfair Ambassador Gordon Elliott, Tiger Roll was given a brilliant stalking ride by experienced jockey Davy Russell who always had the popular eight-year-old in a promising position.

Tiger Roll's jockey Davy Russell, 38, was eighth two years ago and third last year, going into today's race with odds of 10-1.

Bless the Wings (40/1) finished third, well behind Tiger Roll and Pleasant Company (25/1), with Anibale Fly (10/1) taking fourth place on heavy ground under blue skies.

"It's unbelievable for Davy Russell".

Bryony Frost, riding in the race for the first time, fared best of the three female jockeys, coming home fifth aboard the Neil King-trained Milansbar.

"I've said I didn't appreciate it first time round - I'll definitely appreciate it now". "All the way round I couldn't believe how he was going".

Third Advisor Leaves National Security Council
She was tapped in January to take over for Dina Powell , who chose to step down previous year as Deputy National Security Adviser. Waddell will stay on board for the immediate future to help ensure a smooth and orderly transition.

'I was thinking of my mum, my family at home, the kids and all the times that dad used to cut the grass, ' said Russell.

'I've won this race thousands of times in my head but I've never won it like I have today'.

We thought the outfits couldn't get better after the opening day of the festival, and Ladies Day yesterday, but we were wrong.

While a fellow viewer said: "More dead horses in the name of sport, I f****g hate the Grand National".

Total Recall was one of the horses to fall, after starting the race as the 7-1 favourite.

Tiger Roll is owned by Irish businessman Michael O'Leary, chief-executive of Ryanair.
