Elon Musk Announces Around-The-Clock Production Of Tesla Model 3

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk speaks onstage at the South by Southwest festival. Musk decided to delete his Facebook account following the Cambridge Analytica scandal

In a letter Wednesday morning, he said Tesla could "unlock production capacity of 6,000 Model 3 vehicles per week by the end of June".

The company says it warned of future production pauses when it shut down the line to improve automation in February. We reached out to Tesla about the email, but a representative declined to comment on it.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has come up with the idea of manufacturing Model 3 cars with a much higher rate than before to meet the company's production target.

Elon Musk recently used Twitter to admit "excessive automation" at Tesla factories were harming productivity, and contributing to the brand's widely-reported "production hell".

It warned of possibly more periods of downtime in the coming months. For starters, Tesla will move to a 24/7 production schedule for the Model 3, and Musk intends to bring in a lot more carbon-based lifeforms to assemble the vehicles.

Chrome 66 Stable Rolling Out, Blocks Auto-Playing Videos and More
Basically, if you interacted with the site or played media on it previously, video with sound may still autoplay. This feature was originally promised in the last Chrome update, but has now made its way to Chrome 66 instead.

He previously set a goal of producing 5,000 cars per week by the end of the second quarter of this year, but now wants to dial production up to 6,000 cars per week by June, reports say.

Workaholic Tesla boss Elon Musk has been working under a lot of stress at work lately, pulling night shifts and sleeping in the office on a cold, cramped sofa.

One of the biggest changes to the production process will be a move to 24/7 work, along with plans to bring "400 people per week for several weeks" on board.

A spokesperson maintains that the shutdown was planned to "improve automation" and address potential bottlenecking, but yet another production target could mean a loss of investor confidence.

Most US auto plants which are established automakers only operate with two eight hour shifts although a large cost of robots and other equipment are present in the auto assembly lines. He acknowledged criticism that Tesla is "not a real company" until it generates profit and said this is a goal now that Tesla has more scale. Based on that result, Tesla said it expects Model 3 production to "climb rapidly" over the next three months. The Wall Street consensus is at $320.
