Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles agree to restructured contract

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, two sources confirm that Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Nick Foles has agreed to a revised contract for the 2018 season that includes a mutual option for 2019.

It's basically a 2-year deal with a mutual option after this season.

Foles only had one year left on his previous deal, but the biggest thing to take out of this deal is it looks like Foles won't be traded this offseason.

Along with the signing bonus, he can earn millions more in incentives if he's the starter or clears other benchmarks.

Trump mulls pardoning boxing great Jack Johnson after chat with Sylvester Stallone
Johnson was convicted for accompanying a white woman across state lines, at a time when whites and blacks were forbidden to mix. In July 1910 he pummelled the white boxer Jim Jefferies in Reno, Nevada, a famous a victory that led to deadly race riots.

After a shaky finish to the regular season, Foles sparkled in the postseason, culminating with the MVP performance in the 41-33 win over the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

There's been speculation that Nick Foles was on his way out of Philadelphia. The issue for the Eagles was the status of starting quarterback Carson Wentz, who suffered torn knee ligaments in Week 14 last season, an injury which opened the door for Foles' heroics. "I know there was some stuff going around [about] a possible trade, and I would love the opportunity to be a starter again", Foles said. I'm signed for one more year and I love the team, I love the city.

The extra year is beneficial to both Foles and the Eagles. I'll be ready to go whenever they need me.
