Delta explains why smoke filled a cabin after landing at DIA

Delta flight evacuated in Denver because of smoke in cabin

A Delta Air Traces flight with 153 individuals on board was evacuated at Denver's airport after passengers reported smoke within the cabin.

The flight landed and was taxiing to its gate before passengers noticed the smoke.

This was Delta flight 1854 from Detroit to Denver. Flight operations at the Denver airport were not impacted. The passengers were bussed to the terminal.

"Once the crew determined that emergency evacuation was necessary, they quickly and professionally directed passengers off the aircraft through the various exits onboard", Black said.

There was no immediate information about what caused the smoke to fill the cabin.
