'Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon' (ALL) Announced - Screens & Trailer

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is a beautiful 80s throwback releasing this month

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is getting an old-school spin-off game ahead of its release later this year. The game is an 8-bit game called Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, and is set to release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, 3DS, Switch and PC later this month.

Are you exhausted of waiting for former Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi's return to Metroidvania form in the crowdfunded Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night? Its initial $500,000 goal was quickly eclipsed, and by the time the campaign ended more than five million dollars above that, Koji Igarashi pledged and promised a bevy of stretch goals for the game. Players will be able to toggle between four characters on the fly: Zangetsu, a sword-wielding demon slayer, fearless whip-bearer Miriam, sly alchemist Alfred, and Gebel, a misanthrope who for some reason, has undergone crystal transplant surgery.

The 8-bit retro-style action game was developed by game creator Koji Igarashi and Inti Creates. Your choices in recruiting these adventurers will change the difficulty of the game, and may even affect the ending!

Igarashi, typically flamboyant in his cowboy hat, introduced Curse of the Moon's basic gameplay, characters, and unmistakably retro aesthetic.

Kickstarter backers who donated over the $28 tier will receive a code for the spin-off that'll allow them to play for free. Now, Curse of the Moon will enable Inti and Igrashi to capture the spirit of the NES Castlevania games in a new package.
