'N Korea will never fully give up Nuke weapons'

North Korea is moving ahead with plans to close its nuclear test site next week, South Korea's military said Tuesday, an assessment backed by usa researchers who say satellite images show the North has begun dismantling facilities at the site.

The meeting would be the latest in a series of actions taken by North Korea that have spurred hopes that the seven-decade conflict on the Korean Peninsula may be coming to an end.

Ahead of the summit on June 12 in Singapore between Trump and Kim, the DPRK announced on Saturday that it will destroy its nuclear test site later this month. Also in the delegation will be Kim Yun-hyok, vice minister of Railways, and Won Kil-U, vice minister of Physical Culture and Sports.

But it has not made public what concessions it is offering.

Bolton said the United States is pursuing a standard of "complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization" heading into negotiations. He says a deal will need to include inspections to confirm Pyongyang is following through.

He further claimed that North Korea wishes to become a nuclear weapons state under the shield of officially being recognised as a denuclearised state. "He will never give them up", Thae continued.

In his memoir that hit shelves Monday, Thae added: "More people should realise that North Korea is desperately clinging to its nuclear programme more than anything".

While the United States wishes that dismantlement be done within months or up to two years, the North wants a longer period of time to carry out denuclearization. Kim traveled to Beijing in March to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and last week the two leaders met again for two days in the northeastern Chinese city of Dalian.

Doing so would strike "a critical blow to the core foundation of the North Korean power structure", he said.

As of previous year the UN Security Council sanctions included measures on sectors such as coal, fish, textiles and overseas workers.

Thae also noted that North Korea was likely to open its borders to tourism projects near its coast. "These sanctions are threatening the livelihoods of millions of North Koreans at the root". The site has been used for each of North Korea's six underground nuclear test explosions.

"It is North Korea's diplomatic tactic to push the situation to extreme confrontation and suddenly send peace gestures".
