Air Force apologizes for tone-deaf 'Yanny-Laurel' tweet

US Air Force apologises for Yanny Laurel joke about killing people

On May 17 at around 10:58 pm, the twitter handle of the air force tweeted to apologise on the poor comment and informed netizens that the earlier tweet has been removed by them. Subsequent footage showed more Taliban scrambling, in an unsuccessful attempt to avoid the airstrikes.

The U.S. military has provided air support with A-10 attack aircraft and drones.

The original tweet linked to a report about the deployment of A-10 Warthog attack aircraft over western Afghanistan to fight off Taliban forces besieging the city of Farah.

The Air Force apologized Thursday for a tweet from its official account that appeared to make light of a deadly US military operation in Afghanistan by referencing the viral pop culture debate "Yanny v. Laurel". "It has since been removed", the followup tweet said.

Elon Musk pitches 150 miles per hour rides in Boring Company tunnels for $1
The company assured citizens that if the top soil moves by as little as half an inch (one cm), work will stop immediately. The trip now can easily take more than an hour by vehicle .

Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White was asked at a press briefing on Thursday whether she thought the tweet's tone was appropriate.

"But it's probably just an airman who saw this and said, 'This is pretty cool, let's get it out there, ' and the editing process failed", said David Des Roches, a retired Army colonel who teaches at the National Defense University.

Trump says his tough language and threats, along with expanded sanctions, helped persuade Pyongyang to participate in upcoming nuclear negotiations with the U.S.

The Taliban has claimed that it has taken control of the city, but the USA and Afghan governments deny that. The tweet referred to a deadly Taliban attack on May 15 in Afghanistan that killed many people.

"At the end of the day, you're fighting insurgents, you're killing people who are relatives or friends of the people you're trying to convince to come over to your side", Des Roches said.

The initial tweet was deleted and replaced with an apology that said the initial post was "made in poor taste".
