Cornered Trump accuses Obama administration of spying on his campaign

NYT: Papadopoulos, Page Met With 'Govt Informant' Ahead Of Election

Nevertheless, Trump tweeted on Thursday about reports that there was a spy "embedded" within the Trump campaign - a claim that goes far beyond the publicly known facts - suggesting that he may back his congressional allies' efforts to have the information revealed.

Speaking Thursday on Fox and Friends, the former NY mayor said Mr Trump would only sit down with Mr Mueller if "we feel there's a way to shorten this thing".

The Times' report came on the one-year anniversary of special counsel Robert Mueller's appointment to head the probe into allegations of collusion between Trump campaign officials and Russian Federation.

The Times report provided a detailed account of the initial stages of the FBI's investigation of Russia's interference in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign or anyone affiliated with it was privy to Russia's attempts.

Brian Kilmeade noted that the report "buried the lead", stating that "at least one government informant met several times" with Carter Page and George Papadopoulos.

"I think what people need to look here at is they didn't have a criminal predicate to investigate people in the Trump campaign they did, and they used their counterintelligence powers as a pretext to investigate the Trump campaign in the hope of making a criminal case".

Ghasemi urged the global community to take "immediate action" and declare Israelis as "war criminals in worldwide courts". Embassy's relocation from Tel Aviv , seeing it as a one-sided move that invalidates the U.S.as a Mideast peace broker.

After the Times piece was posted, Breitbart News ran a headline that said "Leakers to NYT Confirm FBI Ran Spy Operation Against Trump Campaign". "The stakes are so high", the Post reports, the FBI "is taking steps to protect other live investigations that the person has worked on and is trying to lessen any danger to associates if the informant's identity becomes known".

Mr Trump - as well as his attorney Rudy Guiliani and White House officials - have seized on the matter to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller's probe.

Conservative media figures from Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberly Strassel to radio host Rush Limbaugh have spent the last few days raising alarms about what they claim was an Federal Bureau of Investigation informant dispatched to "spy" on the Trump campaign.

"I've written a couple of columns in the last week or so pointing out there's probably no doubt that they had at least one confidential informant in the campaign", McCarthy said. If so, this is bigger than Watergate!

Mr Trump also praised his administration, calling it "the most successful first 17 month Administration in United States history - by far!"
