RED Hydrogen One is coming at Verizon and AT&T

The RED Hydrogen One

If the "world's first holographic media machine" sounded a little too good or too ambitious to actually hit stores anytime soon, you should be happy to hear that recent delay is most likely not an ominous sign of vaporware material.

At least now RED has unveiled which carriers will sell the phone — Verizon and AT&T. The $1,200 smartphone has a groundbreaking 5.7-inch screen capable of displaying a "better than 3D image" without the need for glasses or an augmented reality headset.

The makers of the Hydrogen One recently stated that the phone was now expected in August, albeit with upgraded cameras that had not been previously announced.

"This is the single most exciting thing I have ever worked on", said Red founder Jim Jannard in a prepared statement.

IPL: Mumbai Indians earn crucial win over Kings XI Punjab
KXIP should fight for a win as their net run-rate is the lowest among all the teams and a loss here could make it worse. Andrew Tye and R Ashwin are the two most important weapons of Punjab in absence of Mujeeb who is injured.

That news is an important vote of confidence in Red's technology, suggesting that the company believes it has the potential to become a viable channel for content. "You have to hold it in your hands and experience it yourself to understand why this is such a mobile game changer", Brian Higgins, vice president of device and consumer product marketing for Verizon, said in a statement. "A phone like this deserves the best network in the country, which is why we can't wait to bring it to Verizon customers later this year".

AT&T will also be hosting a "first look event" on June 2-3 as part of the AT&T Shape Event at the Warner Bros. The smartphone will come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and a 4500mAh battery.

The pricing is not final yet, but RED did take pre-orders earlier this year with two models priced at $1,295 and $1,595. The Hydrogen One originally went up for presale on RED's website starting at $1,295, but it's unclear if this is the same price Verizon and AT&T will charge.
